Worship Pieces for Advent 4

Call to Worship from Luke 1:26-38

Greetings, favored ones! The Lord is with you.
And also with you.
Do not be afraid. Listen today to the word God has for you.
We are much perplexed.
Do not be afraid. God will bring great things to the world through you.
How can this be?
Do not be afraid. The Holy Spirit will come upon you; the power of God will be with you.
Here we are, servants of the Holy One.
Do not be afraid. For nothing will be impossible with God.
We worship God in confidence and hope.

Candle-Lighting Liturgy from Luke 1:26-38

In the face of fear and uncertainties,
We light this candle of love.
We come with our confusion and our questions,
Knowing love is strong enough to handle them.
We welcome the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives,
Confident of God’s deep love for us.
Though the work we are called to may seem impossible,
We will say “yes” together.
Because nothing is impossible with God,
We light this candle of love.

Benediction from Luke 1:38

In the week ahead, may you live the holy “yes” of Mary.
Yes to God’s presence.
Yes to God’s mystery.
Yes to God’s power.
Yes to the work of the Holy Spirit in your life.
Here we are, servants of God. Let it be with us according to the Holy word.
