This call to worship is based on the first verse of “Oh, Holy Night” and was written to go along with the theme of this year’s Sanctified Arts materials: How does a weary world rejoice?

Welcome, on this holy night. The stars are brightly shining!
Whether we can see them or not.
Welcome, as we gather on this holy night to honor our dear savior’s birth!
Whether we feel ready or not.
The sin and sorrow of the world weigh heavy upon us.
The light and joy of the season sparkle around us. 
We wait in the midst of it all–relishing the holiness of the night. 
As we worship together,
May our souls feel their worth;
May our hearts thrill with hope;
May the weary world rejoice!
