A New Devotional! And Esther and Nicodemus

Hello, friends. I am busy writing a Lenten devotional that will be published by Herald Press next January: Prone to Wander: A Lenten Journey with Women in the Wilderness. So I haven’t posted much on the blog lately. I’m dropping a couple of recent worship pieces below. And I hope you are all having a wonderful Lent!

Not the most flattering picture of me, but it shows off our lovely worship space.

You can read my sermon manuscript from this past Sunday here. And in case it’s any incentive, I do compare Esther to Crystal Hefner–the parallels are quite striking, actually.

You can watch Zoom recordings of some other recent sermons on the Peace Mennonite YouTube channel.

And here is a call to worship on John 3:11-18 (requested by a friend):

Like Nicodemus, we come with some hesitation:
There are so many other places we could be.
Like Nicodemus, we come with wonder:
Amazed at all we have seen God do.
Like Nicodemus, we come with questions:
So very many questions.
Like Nicodemus, we come to learn from Jesus:
We bring our hesitation, our wonder, and our questions.
We bring all of who we are into this sacred space of worship,
Trusting in the grace of our God who so deeply loves the world.
