Call to Worship (from Philippians 2)
We have come to seek
Encouragement in Christ,
Consolation from love,
Sharing in the Spirit.
God receives us with compassion.
We receive each other with sympathy.
May our joy be complete as we gather together in worship.
Prayer of Confession and Assurance of Pardon from Matthew 21:28-32
When we care more about looking good than doing good,
God forgive us.
When we say what we think people want to hear rather than what is true,
God forgive us.
When we make promises we cannot keep,
God forgive us.
When our actions do not live up to our words,
God forgive us.
When we fail to realize that outcomes matter more than intentions,
God forgive us.
When we judge people based on our own preconceptions rather than the reality of who they are,
God forgive us.
Silence
Friends, our divine parent hears our prayers and forgives our sins.
Let us walk ever more faithfully in Jesus’ way of integrity
and live ever more fully within God’s grace.
