Weekly Prayer Practice

We’re getting ready to head out camping and I realized that I haven’t posted a prayer practice for this week. So here’s some inspiration from a post I wrote last year.

“One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture and, if possible, speak a few reasonable words.” – Goethe

We often think of prayer as the way that we talk to God. The reality, though, is that prayer should be mostly about listening. So listen and look for God this week–in music, literature, art–and nature. If you can also manage to speak a few reasonable words, that’s a bonus!

My inspiring music this week is Bach’s cello concertos. And for poetry, I’ve recently discovered poems.com–a new poem posted every day.

What music, art, poetry is God using to speak to you this week?
