Words for Anointing
Happy Wednesday, everyone! Someone else is doing most of the worship planning for this coming Sunday, which means I haven’t written any new liturgies for the week. I’m posting the words I speak to people when I do anointings. We do not offer anointing at my church very often; when we do, I always feel the presence of the Spirit in a powerful way. And I am usually completely exhausted by the end of the service. I pray these words for each of you today:
May the Creator of life heal your deepest wounds.
May Jesus the Christ grant you forgiveness and the grace to forgive.
May the Holy Spirit restore you to all wholeness. Amen.
*Next week, I hope to post the order of worship for our upcoming Ash Wednesday service.
