We come to prepare the way:
The way for Christ.
We come to hear the good news:
the hope of Christ.
We come longing for divine hope
to enter our hearts, to enter our world.
We come to cry out together in the wilderness:
“Oh, kingdom of heaven come near.”
We come to be part of the light–
the light that shines in the darkness.
Dear Joanna, Thank you for the beautiful reflections on the lectionary that I just read in the newest Christian Century. They brought back memories of the good times we had in our religion classes, when you were a part of our college community. I also enjoyed the picture above, and I’ll read some on your other posts on this blog. I’m very happy that you have a ministry that clearly means a lot to you and to your congregation. I wish a happy new year to you and all your family!
Your brother in Christ,
Fred Kellogg
Thank you for your kind note, Dr. Kellogg. It’s so nice to hear from you. I have fond memories of my classes with you at Emory & Henry. Blessing to you in the new year!
