Christmas Eve Service

I’ve just posted the Christmas Eve liturgy we’ll be using at Peace Mennonite this year. It’s basically scriptures and hymns–like we do every year. But I’ve been absorbing inspiration from lots of my pastor-blogger friends and wanted to do something a little bit different.

So thanks to Marci Glass for suggesting the song “Better Day” by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Thanks to Jeanne Redshaw for sharing with the RevGalBlogPals about the candle-lighting Christmas Eve service that she leads with her congregation.

Thanks to Martha Sponge for sharing her beautiful scripted reading about Jesus getting left in Jerusalem–which gave me the idea for multiple voices.

Thanks to my mom for telling me that this year she will start the service with Silent Night and end with Joy to the World.

And I especially give thanks for the people of Peace Mennonite Church who encourage and appreciate creativity. And he are quite gracious with me and with each other as we do this thing called church together.

You can get to the Christmas Eve Service here.
