30 Days of Creativity

Creative blogger Dianne Faw clued me in to a fabulous project called “30 days of Creativity.” Those who sign on pledge to create something new every day for 30 days in a row.  And I thought . . . well, what’s a sabbatical for?  So I signed on!

The catch is that the project is basically scheduled for June, and I thought it might be difficult to make and post craft projects while I’m on vacation with my family in Branson.  Which means that I am starting my 30 days today!

Mandala suncatcherMy first project is a Shrinky Dink suncatcher. You may recognize this as my colored mandala from this week’s prayer practice. I chose a simple mandala pattern, printed it off, traced it on the Shrinky Dink sheet with permanent black marker and colored it in with colored permanent markers.

Then I cut it out, punched a hole, and baked it in my toaster oven. It still seems like magic to me. I’d say you are never too old to make Shrinky Dinks!

If you would like to join the fun, just visit the web site for 30 days of Creativity for all the details.

  1. Great start to your 30 days of Creativity!! Good luck. I had a good time last year but it was challenging to do something every day. Very good idea to start early with your vacation planned.
