Call to Worship for New Year’s Day

I’m hoping to take the week off between Christmas and New Year’s day, which means I’m doing a lot of worship planning this week.

Our opening scripture for New Year’s day will be  Ecclesiastes 3: 1, 11-14a. And here is the call to worship:

Praise be to God,
Creator of time and space!
Who has set eternity in the human heart.
Who gives us today
in which we can be happy and do good.
Today,
in which we can eat and drink and find satisfaction.
Today,
which is a gift from God.
Let us worship the One who makes everything beautiful in its time.
For everything God does will endure forever.
Forever and ever. Amen.
