Crash Course on the Bible

If you look to the right of the screen, you will notice some new links labeled “pages.”  I’ve been trying to post sub-pages for my “Sermons, Etc.” page for the last few weeks, and realized they were not showing up.  So the helpful support folks at WordPress told me I could change my theme or add the links to my sidebar.  I chose what seemed to be the path of least resistance.

My most recent page addition is a handout I developed for my Baptism Exploration class titled: A Terribly Inadequate Guide to the Bible.  It’s all there in two pages: the books of the Bible, the time line, canonization, manuscript selection, and translation.

Well, OK, there is a lot that’s not there because the handout is only two pages and we’re talking about millennia of human history; we’re talking about millions of pages of texts.

Still, I think it’s a good starting place for studying the Bible.  It generated good discussion at our Baptism class last week.  If you find it helpful, you are welcome to use it.  If you have questions or comments, please post them.
