Call to Worship from Philippians 4:4-7
Dear friends,
rejoice
in God always. Let’s say it again:
rejoice.
May our gentleness be known,
for God is near.
Let us not worry about anything,
for God is near.
We will ask for what we need
in prayer,
and offer thanks to God
in prayer.
We rejoice and give thanks that
the peace of God
will guard our hearts;
the peace of God
will guard our minds;
the peace of God
will be with us
in this time of worship
and beyond.
A contemplative prayer from Philippians 4:8:
God of peace:
Let us think about that which is true.
Silence
Let us think about that which is honorable.
Silence
Let us think about that which is just.
Silence
Let us think about that which is pure.
Silence
Let us think about that which is pleasing.
Silence
Let us think about that which is commendable.
Silence
Let us think about that which is excellent and worthy or praise.
Silence
Guard our minds, holy One, and grant us your peace.
Amen.
