Call to Worship inspired by 1 Thessalonians 2:1-8

In worship we share the Good News of Jesus
And we share ourselves with each other.
In this place we receive the tender care of God
And we care tenderly for each other.
We gather today with hope and with courage
To give and receive love in the holy name of Christ.

Prayer from Psalm 90

In the face of pervasive violence and deep grief,
O God, you have been our dwelling place from generation to generation.
Though worldly powers of despair and destruction seem strong,
You are God from everlasting to everlasting.
When we do not know what to do and cry out, “How long?”
O God, have compassion on us.
Let us know your love every morning
So that we might be glad and rejoice all of our days.
