Worship Pieces: Exodus 20 and Psalm 19

Prayer from Exodus 20:1-20

God, we long to follow your teachings and live by your guidance.
We know we will live our best lives if we tend not merely to our own desires,
but to our relationship with you and our relationships with others.
We find, though, that the path of faith is not always easy to figure out or to follow.
We do not witness the thunder and lightning, the sounding trumpet or the smoking mountain.
Yet we can hear your voice if we listen.
We can find your path if we look.
We can discern your way if we open ourselves to the guidance of your Spirit
And the wisdom of your people.
Give us the courage to enter the thick darkness where you reside
And to walk the path of life that is revealed to us there.
Amen.

Benediction from Psalm 19

As you live this week with the Word of God echoing in your mind and the Presence of God warming your heart, may your soul be revived; may your heart rejoice; may your eyes be enlightened. And may the peace of Christ be with you.
