Weekly Worship Piece: Call to Worship

This coming Sunday we will have a guest speaker, Stefan Warner, talking about his experiences with Christian Peacemaker Teams in Iraq.  Here’s our call to worship:

As we gather this morning, let us proclaim:
We are people of God’s peace,
Seeking the path of Christ.
We are people of God’s peace,
Longing to live in peace with everyone.
We are people of God’s peace,
Praying and acting for peace in our world.
We are people of God’s peace,
Gathered together in this place.
Let us worship with joy.

And here is another peace-focused call to worship:

In this place, at this table,
we seek peace.
We seek serenity within ourselves.
We seek harmony within our families.
We seek goodwill among our neighbors.
We seek a ceasefire among all nations.
We seek not just the absence of conflict,
But the presence of shalom–
the abiding peace
the healing life
the unrelenting justice
that God calls us to in Christ.
Let us worship with Divine hope.
